Zagorochoria

Zagorochoria is a famous destination and consists of a complex of traditional and truly beautiful villages. The unique culture of the region imposes stone and wood in the construction of the buildings. The landscape includes towering mountains, ravines, stone bridges, lakes and waterfalls. There you will also find the famous Vikos gorge, which is one of the deepest in the world. It is crossed by the Voidomatis river, which has been characterized as the cleanest in Europe. There are many taverns where one can enjoy the truly unique delicacies of the region. The visitor will see Papingo, Aristi, Tsepelovo, Dilofo, Kipou, Monodendri and many other well-known villages of the region. Especially in Aristi, the visitor will be able to find organized facilities for kayaking where there are routes for experienced, beginners and very experienced. It should be noted that the area covers a very large area. Drakolimni, Pindos National Park and Valia Kalda are also located there! Apliki Drakolimni is ideal for hiking.

Access is very easy by road from Ioannina, since the last of the 52 villages in the complex is now connected to the rest of the road network.
